Flying with the President - A Dream

Last night I had a dream in which I got to spend some time with President Bush:

Actually there was myself and at least two other people. We were on a small plane that he was flying personally from Washington, D.C. to Arlington, Virginia. There was a certain dress code that we had to follow. It involved a turtleneck sweather and a red bow tie. There were no secret service personnel.

As we were walking onto the plane, Mr. Bush told me to wave to the onlookers because, by getting on this plane, we all were ending the first ever lockdown of the Federal Reserve and several other federal offices.

The plane was large enough to have an elevator that went at least two floors. I remember while waiting at one level, we saw a picture with President Bush and three younger children. Two of them were obviously his twin daughters, but we wondered who the other one was. We asked him, and he told us - I don't remember what the answer was.

He called to a woman working in a computer area on the lowest floor of the plane. He was interested in the progress of a certain system that was being developed. I believe he was concerned about it because he had to make a decision on whether he wanted it in the budget or not.

As we got ready to land, we put on our uniforms (the red bowties, etc.), and when we landed, we exited, following the President to his destination in Arlington, Virginia.

I recall feeling very privileged to be spending some more personal time with the President than what I experienced on Friday. It was great to be a part of something official yet rather informal.
