Dave Ramsey and The Total Money Makeover

I've been listening to the Dave Ramsey Show via podcast on my commute up to Dayton every day. Our family is going to buy his book The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness. We think this is a good deal. Not sure if we want to wait for it to be delivered or simply go buy it now at the brick and mortar store.

Vinoklet Winery as a Meetup Location? (22-min)

I met with Richard Dudley, Director of Hospitality and Marketing for the Vinoklet Winery, to talk about potentially having New Media Cincinnati (http://newmediacincinnati.com) meetups over there. Listen to the audio and check out their website at http://vinokletwines.com/

Should we have a future meetup here?

New Media Cincinnati - Multiple Identities

We had a lively, 30-minute discussion about managing versus merging multiple online identities. Could have easily gone on for an hour. Managing a single online presence is hard enough with all the various social media tools available. Add in more online presences and blogs, and it's easy to see the problem.

Listen to the New Media Cincinnati(http://newmediacincinnati.com/) community discuss this. Feel free to continue the conversation.

Memorial to Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira

Talk about the loss of two Colerain Township firefighters, Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira, on April 4, 2008

Community response has been phenomenal and overwhelming

7,000-8,000 firefighters from around the country expected to show up during the funeral procession: http://news.enquirer.com/…ll/article

Recall my Dad being with the Colerain Township Fire Department when it was formed in 1975.

He was with the department when the only other death happened back in 1977, 31 years ago.

Found a version of "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes, recorded at the Cincinnati Museum Center in March 2007

Thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Robin Broxterman and Brian Schira. We know your pain is real.

Today is not really my birthday... or is it?

I've already received a few wishes of Happy Birthday today. But my birthday isn't really today... or is it?

It's not my intent to deceive my friends, but rather to deceive those that aggregate my information. You see, there are several ways to compromise your privacy online, and one of them is by revealing your birthday. Combine that with a social security number and an address, and, as Chris Penn says, you have the unholy trinity of identity fraud.

So thanks for the birthday wishes. I should point out that my daughter has been in a month-long campaign of wishing me happy birthday. So feel free. I definitely appreciate it.
