When to reveal the Holiday Secrets

A certain child I know has been talking and thinking about a certain fourth-quarter holiday so much lately, more and more what this child wants to happen on that holiday, that I'm tempted to reveal the truth as a way to get this child to stop - to effect a mind change.

I'm being somewhat vague on purpose here.

When should a parent reveal the Holiday Secrets?
